the smartest future proof career avenues available

As the world changes and evolves, so do the best career options available tend to fluctuate. What was a good career decision a few years ago may not necessarily still be a good idea today. Such is the nature of the world, and the nature of the job market.

With that being said, those that are looking to start a career may be asking themselves some important questions. The most important being; what is a smart career to get into that will still be secure in the next decade or so?

Software Developer

There is no question about it, software development is currently in a state of massive growth. Virtually every industry under the sun has some or other need for software development, so much so that there is currently far more demand than supply that exists. Though, it isn’t all as simple as it seems on the surface.

There are multiple avenues of software development, countless different sets of software tools, and numerous avenues. From game development to app building and site design, it can be tough to know where to even begin. The point is though that the market is crying out for new applicants, and anyone getting into it now would doing so wisely.

The betting online NZ industry was built on the backs of software engineers and is also great fun. Check it out.

Health Service Professionals

An industry that has remained secure for centuries, as far as employment is concerned, is the medical industry. From nurses to doctors, and countless specialisation branches, there is always room for more growth, and always a lack of willing professionals.

Of course, it isn’t as easy as simply deciding you want to be a doctor, and jumping into a waiting position. The medical world is also notorious for demanding years of study, and not everyone is up to the task.

Veterinarian

Another industry that is seeing massive, unending growth is the veterinary world. It is estimated that in the United States alone there are around 89,000 practicing vets of all kinds. By 2029 there will be more than 100,000 as so many animals have health issues. This isn’t as much growth as some other industries on this list, but the fact that growth has remained steady for decades is what is important.

Though, as with the medical world, the veterinary world is also not an easy one to qualify for. A doctor of veterinary medicine will be required, and it isn’t a walk in the park. Many also find it a tough, emotionally draining job, given the extensive work done with sick animals.

University Lecturer

Lastly; in terms of university-level education, almost all areas are growing in demand. However, it is mostly the medical and business departments that are seeing the fastest growth. Though, deciding to work for a university is an interesting prospect.

In order to teach a subject, a lecturer must generally have a Ph.D. in that subject. This means that those who lecture are also qualified to work in that same industry.
