Former All-Star Team From Disney Joins John Lasseter at Skydance Animation

Rich Moore Joins Skydance Animation
Rich Moore has been a screenwriter and animation director as well as a voice actor. He understands many different aspects of creating high-quality animated stories. He directed the feature “Wreck-It Ralph,” its sequel “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” and was the co-director of “Zootopia.” All three were produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. He has also worked on forward-thinking animated TV series such as “The Simpsons” and “Futurama.” He has won an Academy Award and two Emmys among other awards. Rich Moore has been signed to Skydance for many years to bring his creativity and insight.
Skydance Animation Adds Brad Bird
A long-time animator and animation writer, Brad Bird makes an incredible addition to the team. He worked on movies such as “Ratatouille,” “The Incredibles” movies, The Iron Giant, and others. He attended the California Institute of the Arts where he first met John Lasseter. Soon after, he went to work for Disney where he worked on series as diverse as “Amazing Stories” and “The Simpsons.” He later moved to Pixar and was part of several important animated movies. Brad Bird both wrote and directed two of the biggest animated films of the 2000s, “The Incredibles” and “Ratatouille.” He has won two Academy Awards and been nominated for three. His high-level work in animated features helped bring him into the Skydance fold to be able to direct his own animated film.
Alan Menken and Skydance
Alan Menken is a highly-decorated composer who has created songs and full scores for several beloved movies. He has won eight Academy Awards for his many musical contributions to movies. He composed music for a long list of Disney movies including “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “Enchanted,” “Tangled,” “Pocahontas” and more. He has an established history of composing beloved Disney animated film songs, and he is continuing his tradition of excellence and creativity in music with Skydance Animation, where he is working to compose the score and original songs for the animated film “Spellbound.”
